Warm greetings from the deep freeze of the USA! Hope you're enjoying all that winter has to offer wherever you are. The "snowscape" here in Minnesota is simply gorgeous and inspires long walks in the woods...wearing lots of layers!
Our current featured CD is A Place In Every Heart. This project was inspired by meaningful, enduring relationships in my life, offering a celebration of those who love and support each of us through every season of our lives. All selections are exclusively piano/orchestral and highlight some of the most talented string and woodwind artists in the country. Many of you are familiar with the extraordinarily gifted Yuri Merzhevsky, a virtuoso violinist who was a dear friend and performing companion for many years before his untimely death not long after this CD was released. His famed "signature sound" is a treasure on this album. A Place In Every Heart, as well as others in the Easy Listening and also the Inspirational categories will make unique Valentine gifts. There seem to be several themed tea parties enjoyed this month and into the spring...what a pleasant distraction during this long winter as well as a fun kick-off to spring! We often hear of people using music as a hostess gift for occasions such as this. I'm grateful to learn of the ways music I record is being used!
Several have requested a DVD of a concert. I've yet to have one taped, but the most recent live performance I have to share is a clip from Showcase Minnesota, a program on KARE 11 TV. It featured a spot about the new Christmas CD and release concert. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at places I perform in the months ahead. I greatly appreciate receiving calls and e-mails from those who invite me to speak and play the piano at venues in their community. We're booking a variety of events for 2010 and into 2011' concerts, women's events, fund raisers, church worship services, and Christmas events. One of our daughters made a "Facebook Fan Page" for me. She must have thought Mom needed to be a little more "techie" and communicate more frequently with those who appreciate the music from my CDs. Never really liked the term "fan", much prefer "supportive listener", but it is what it is. Thanks for being a "supportive listener"!
